TERMS AND CONDITIONS

VICENTINA TRANSFERS agrees to provide the service on the terms set out below for any bookings that are accepted by us (accepted meaning that we have confirmed by email that your booking has been made). Our terms and conditions are otherwise subject to change at any time.

SERVICE

VICENTINA TRANSFERS Luggage Transfer Service is available every day, from February to November, between Santiago do Cacém and Lagos, in both directions. Bookings must be done, at least, on the day before the start of your hike, until 7 pm, using our Online Booking Form

​PRICES

1 TRANSFER = 1 ROUTE SECTION

Book 4 or more Luggage Transfers - 15€ each transfer

Book up to 3 Luggage Transfers - 20€ each transfer

All transfers include 2 luggage pieces


Each ADDITIONAL PIECE OF LUGGAGE per TRANSFER - 5€

The price is applied per transfer for standard route sections, between Santiago do Cacém and Lagos, in both directions (N-S or S-N), as long as the luggage pickup and drop-off points are the same.

If you wish the luggage to be dropped at the end of your hike, or need longer luggage transfers covering more than 1 route section, bookings must be made by e-mailinfo@vicentinatransfers.pt and the following rules apply:

  • Luggage transfers covering 2 route sections, cost is double

  • For direct transfers (including 3 or more route sections) there is a special rate of 10€ per route section, including up to 2 luggage pieces. Each additional luggage piece is 5€ per transfer.

WEIGHT LIMITS

Each Luggage item must not exceed 18 kg. Overweight luggage will be accompanied by a request to reduce the weight in the following transfers. If an extra bag is needed, there will be an extra charge of 5€ per day for the extra bag. We reserve the right of not transfer your luggage if excess overweight.

LUGGAGE RULES

  • 1 luggage item per person (and not 1 luggage item for 2 or more people)

  • Food items are not permitted (water bottles, beverages, fruits, any kind of food, dry or fresh)

  • Backpacks must have their straps loose and cannot be packed on protective covers or carry on bags. Please remember that we have to carry your luggage up and down the car, up and down stairs and along pedestrian only streets

  • Luggage items must be standalone items and cannot be stuffed together on huge carry bags

EXTRA ITEMS

Strapped items to your main luggage will save weight and space to your trekking daypack. Items must be firmly secure to the main luggage (e.g. hiking equipment, hand bags, boot bags, souvenirs, etc…).

This does not include extra weight of your luggage on an extra bag and is meant to give you the comfort of carrying these items without the need of crushing them on you backpack.

COLLECTION AND DELIVERY

  • Luggage must be ready from 9:00 am and will be delivered till 4:30 pm

  • Service is mainly North-South. If you are hiking North, your luggage will always be the last of the day. You may experience some delays (5:30 to 6 pm deliveries) during your hike. 

  • Always leave your luggage in a central location on your accommodation, like the lobby, reception or luggage room. 

  • You don’t need to be present for the pick-up and delivery and can start the hike before we arrive!

  •  We’ll label your luggage on the first transfer. DO NOT remove the label until the end of the hike. We need it to make sure your luggage is delivered on the right place.

 

If the luggage is not ready for collection on the requested time and another service provider must be hired, the resulting cost is entirely supported by the customer.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g. road block, vehicle break down, accident) preventing the delivery of your luggage before 4:30 pm, you will be informed immediately and an alternative solution will be arranged to suit your comfort. However we will not accept any liability resulting from such events.

If we are unable to deliver you luggage due to closed premises, we’ll attempt to deliver it to a nearby safe location and inform you and your accommodation.

ALTERATIONS TO YOUR BOOKING

It is the responsibility of the customer to inform VICENTINA TRANSFERS in the event of any alteration to the itinerary.   

CANCELLATIONS

It is the responsibility of the customer to inform VICENTINA TRANSFERS in the event of a cancellation.

There will be no refund on cancellations of ongoing bookings. In all other cases there will be a 15€ cancellation fee. Cancellations are refunded within 48h notice on the following conditions:

  • 30 days notice from the date of the first transfer » 75% refund

  • Less than 30 days notice from the date of the first transfer » 50% refund

Refunds are exclusive of transaction fees already paid.

PAYMENTS

 

Payments must be done securely by card using the Online Booking Form on the website. 

LIABILITY

 

We agree to indemnify the loss of a whole luggage up to 150€ per luggage item whilst in our possession (only between collection and delivery). Extra items attached to larger luggage items and electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones, cameras, etc are not included. Loss or theft of individual items from luggage is not insured and neither is damage to the luggage item itself. Any loss of, or from luggage before pick up and after delivery is not covered.

In the event of unstaffed accommodations and the luggage being left on a secure place, we do not accept liability for any resulting loss or damage.
