Let's start with the bad news: wild camping it's not allowed in Portugal, and Rota Vicentina is no exception. The good news is that there are Camping Parks along the entire Fishermen's Trail, from Porto Covo to Aljezur and that you can camp without carrying all your camping gear!
We know it's boring, but we are in a Natural Park, with very sensitive habitats and even though all wild campers say they will behave environmentally properly, this is not always the case as you might imagine. And you can imagine the scale when it goes out of control. Besides that, there is the law, so yes, it's not allowed to camp in the wild while walking the Rota Vicentina.
The good news is that there are great Camping Parks along the entire Fishermen's Trail, from Porto Covo to Aljezur - except in Almograve - and that camping is the most budget way to do the Rota Vicentina!
